FCC to Revive Emergency Communications Plan

The Federal Communications Commission approved a new framework for creating of a nationwide emergency communications network, the agency's second attempt to create set rules for the network. The new framework includes more detail and makes the plan more attractive to private companies in several areas. According to the Associated Press, because this would use public airwaves and private money, there reportedly are concerns that the current economic crisis might make it difficult to attract investors.
