Chief Turns Fire Lessons into Book

Apex (N.C.) Fire Chief Mark Haraway took the lessons of a devastating fire that caused the evacuation of 15,000 people and turned them into a textbook for disaster responders. According to the News & Observer, "Large Scale Incident Management" covers the events of the Environmental Quality fire of Oct. 5, where barrels of hazardous waste exploded and firefighters and police officers battled the blaze in a cloud of toxic smoke in a Raleigh suburb.
