IAFC Re-Releases Hazmat Guide

Due to recent instances of white powder being sent by mail to office buildings, the International Association of Fire Chiefs is re-releasing its Model Procedures for Responding to a Package with Suspicion of a Biological Threat. The guide was first released in Jan. 2004 in cooperation with the FBI’s Hazardous Materials Response Unit. It provides a model procedure for first responders to respond to potential bioterror events, primarily involving suspicious letters, packages or containers.
