NFPA Awards Fire Safety Scholarships

National Fire Protection Association has granted its Fire Safety Education Memorial Fund Scholarships to students for their academic achievements, leadership abilities, contributions to fire safety activities and pursuit of careers in fire safety. Glen Savell, a student at Columbia Southern University pursuing a degree in fire science, received the George D. Miller Scholarship. He is an assistant fire chief of operations at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Fire Department in Cuba. Alyson Blair, a student in the Fire Protection Engineering program at the University of Maryland, received the Arthur E. Cote Scholarship.
