Safety Board Pressures FAA for Safety Measures

The National Transportation Safety Board is pressuring the Federal Aviation Administration to adopt safety measures to limit the number of fatal EMS aircraft accidents. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, nine accidents occurred in last 12 months, killing 35 people. In February, the NTSB will hold a three-day public hearing on EMS helicopter safety. At an upcoming meeting to be held Oct. 28, the NTSB will consider adding its EMS recommendations to its most wanted list of safety improvements.
