Wirless Technology Speeds Response

Firefighters in Morgantown, W.V., are the first in the state to employ laptop technology in each truck that provide instant access to building information, including how the building is laid out, where sprinkler rooms or electric shut-offs are located, and who to contact during an emergency. According to McClatchy-Tribune Information Services, before this wireless technology went into effect, firefighters used only individual laptops with information stored on hard drives.
