FEMA Aid to Iowa, Calif.

The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency said that federal disaster aid has been made available for Iowa to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by a severe winter storm during the period of December 10-11. FEMA also expanded the disaster declaration for the Southern California wildfires. FEMA Administrator David Paulison said the assistance to Iowa was authorized under a major disaster declaration issued for the state by President Bush.
