New Fire Chiefs Hired

CKNW Radio reports that Kim Howell was hired as deputy fire chief in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Howell has never has been a firefighter, but does have 25 years of management experience in municipalities. In her previous job as deputy chief administrator in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Howell led the emergency services department with over 100 full-time firefighters, paramedics, and safety code officers. Prior to that, Howell was a parks and recreation superintendent.
