Pelosi, Foresters Back FLAME Act

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spoke on the floor this week in support of H.R. 5541, the Federal Land Assistance, Management and Enhancement Act, which passed by voice vote. A forester association is backing the bill, but calls for different revenue source. The National Association of State Foresters said it was encouraged by the dialogue on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives over the need to address the ever-increasing impact of emergency fire suppression costs on the USDA Forest Service and the Department of Interior's constrained budgets.
