Two Chiefs Retire, Four Named to Chief Positions

Cliff Christopher, fire chief of Athens (Ala.) Fire & Rescue will step down from his position of 14 years in October. Under his leadership, the department has built new stations, purchased new equipment and started training to offer emergency medical response, reports Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News. Daryl L. Osby was named chief deputy for emergency operations in the Los Angeles County Fire Department, reports Daily News wire services.
