9/11 First Responder Claims Multiplying

The New York Post reports that legal actions filed against the City of New York in connection with the events of Sept. 11, 2001, have tripled in the past year. More than 1,100 notices of claim, which potential plaintiffs are required to file before suing the city, were filed against the city during the fiscal year that ended June 30. The number of lawsuits is up, as well. Plaintiffs filed more than 300 suits related to exposure to toxic substances at the World Trade Center site.
