Changes imminent for excess property

The CFSI reports that the Department of Defense and U.S. Forest Service are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding in the coming months that will make significant changes to the Federal Excess Surplus Property Program. The MOU will clear the way for title transfer of excess property to fire departments. The issue of title has been contentious for many departments that have acquired equipment through the program.
