The young and the restless

A probationary firefighter/paramedic, who had probation and internship extended with much support from his department, successfully completes them after extra attention, then quits six months later for another department. Where's the loyalty, his chief wondered. On hearing the callout for a mutual aid response, a new firefighter contacts the bc to tell him how to do it. Would you have expected that 15 years ago? Ten? Five? I've begun to notice interesting things about new firefighters.
