Colorado Fire Chief Latest LODD

Ordway Springs (Colo.) Volunteer Fire Department Chief Terry DeVore and fellow firefighter John Schwartz Jr., died April 15., died while trying to drive across a bridge over a drainage ditch. The U.S. Fire Administration reports that heavy smoke prevented the men from seeing that the bridge had been damaged or collapsed. DeVore was 30; Schwartz was 38.
