Illinois Fire Chief Dies

Clinton, Ill., Fire Chief Jeff Pearl, 50, died Nov. 5, of natural causes. He had served as fire chief for four years; he also served on the county board and was an EMT. “The city is in shock," Clinton Mayor Ed Wollet told the Bloomington Pantagraph. "Jeff was a vital part of the community. He put in a lot of time and effort on behalf of the citizens of Clinton and DeWitt County. Pearl was a familiar figure at every fire scene. “He was on the line all the time.” ...
