New Fire Chiefs Hired

The Coon Rapids Herald reports that John Piper was hired as fire chief of the Coon Rapids (Minn.) Fire Department. He will replace Tim Farmer who is retiring in September. Piper has been a Coon Rapids firefighter since 1981 and is currently the city's fire marshal, will be the department’s new chief. Piper will be the department's fifth chief in 54 years. In Jay, Maine, the Sun Journal Lewiston reports that Rick Duguay resigned as emergency management director to take the job of assistant fire rescue chief.
