Feds to Host GIS Conference

The departmentd of Defense and Justice will host the 11th Annual Technologies for Critical Incident Preparedness Conference and Expo from Feb. 2–4 in Philidelphia. The conference will include an informational session on DHS’s recently announced Virtual USA initiative, which aids in advancing data interoperability and sharing for emergency responders.   Session topics range from GIS for emergency responders, available federal resources, infrastructure protection, and open source resources for public safety, among others.  Key speakers include White House Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra, Philadelphia Deputy Mayor Everett Gillison, and Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers.
