Mesa Earns Equipment Through Research Study

The Mesa Fire Department has agreed to participate in a research study conducted by Zoll Medical Corp. Zoll will loan 37 12-lead electrocardiogram monitors for two years, while Mesa uses the equipment to ensure that cardiac chest compressions are performed correctly, reports the The Arizona Republic. The monitors provide a 3-D look at a patient's heart. Each one costs approximately $20,000, a price tag the department would not otherwise be able to afford, and will be in use in October.
