South Carolina Buys Detectors, CCAT Funds Research

South Carolina purchased 300 handheld radiation detectors and toxic gas monitors from RAE Systems Inc. "The GammaRAE II radiation detectors give state responders a tool to deal with the threat of a dirty bomb as well as the illicit trafficking of radioactive materials. This purchase continues South Carolina's forward thinking in terms of unseen threat detection and response devices," said Doug Mayer, RAE Systems' southeast regional manager. "South Carolina selected RAE Systems' MultiRAE Plus gas detectors to supplement the earlier purchases of AreaRAE and MultiRAE Plus monitors already in place within the state and local emergency responder community." ...
