Two Fire Chiefs Die

Deputy Chief Michael D. Crotty and Chief Charlie Fraley passed away this week. Twenty-four-year-old Deputy Chief Michael D. Crotty of the Lawrence Park Township Volunteer Fire Department attended an industrial fire at Port Erie Plastics (Erie, Pa.) where he was injured due to an aerial ladder malfunction. He was transported to Hamot Medical Center where he died on April 8, 2008. He served as a volunteer for six years.
