Sharonville (Ohio) Fire Department Chief Dale Duermit has received the 2006 Ohio Fire Service Distinguished Fire Service Award. The award recognizes Duermit's leadership in the fire service at the local, state and national levels; his 10 years as a member of the Ohio Fire Commission; and for his 52 years of dedicated service as a firefighter in Sharonville. Duermit served as assistant chief of the Sharonville Fire Department from 1959 to 1984.
