NVFC Attends Volunteer Recognition Event

The National Volunteer Fire Council was honored with other volunteers at an event held by President George W. Bush on the South Lawn of the White House. The president offered the nation's volunteers emphasized his call to service to the American people, challenging all Americans to devote at least 4,000 hours serving “our nation through acts of compassion.” He also recognized specific volunteer programs, including Fire Corps, which is administered by the NVFC, and its parent initiative, Citizen Corps. ...
